All Packed Up and Ready to Go!

A couple days ago I celebrated my first sale on Etsy (thank you, Liz)! While I was packaging the painting for the trip from South Louisiana to Colorado, I decided to take of few pictures to show how my paintings are packaged for their journey.

First, the back is signed; hanging wire added; and packing slip, COA, and thank you letter are slipped in.

Next, the painting is wrapped in bubble wrap with the edges getting a double bubble wrap whammy to make sure they’re protected. Maybe a little overkill here, but the extra protection makes me feel better. The bubble wrap gets taped to itself with a few pieces of clear tape to keep it secure.

It’s placed in a custom-made box that it only slightly larger than the size of the painting – wouldn’t want there to be any wiggle room in the box. The box is taped; labeled with a couple “Fragile” stickers and shipping label; and an “open here” note is written. Packaging is basically the same for all paintings, but multiple panel paintings get a bit of extra protection between each panel and smaller format paintings on hardboard having different hanging material.

Now, it’s ready to go! Just have to wait for the UPS guy.
